| In the fading months of UK’s
BLACK NIELSON, singer songwriter of the band MIKE
GALE had a vision for his musical future & set
out on his lonesome to record his debut solo outing
“Pucker Up Buttercup”. With
the help from his good friends from BLACK NIELSON,
GOLDRUSH & TRUCK RECORDS STUDIOS, he recorded
10 of the most beautifully breezy pop songs to
appear in this murky musical landscape & LTI
couldn’t resist getting this out to the
people.
Mike is currently living in Australia
& has the added edition of Alysia Manceau
on vocals & guitar. They will be touring the
country & recording a new album over the coming
months.
"'Pucker Up Buttercup'
is impressively assured and quite easily marks
Co-Pilgrim as one to keep an eye on. For anyone
who appreciates soul in their music, it's highly
recommended" dB
"The overall result is a record that
is simultaneously sad and joyful"
Rave - ***½
"Effortlessly tugging on heartstrings
here and there, the result is reminiscent of a
more subdued Richard Swift or a torch-singer gone
porch-singer. Pretty stuff with a heart full of
promise, can't wait to hear more"
Cheese On Toast
"The album lasts just over half-an-hour,
meaning the ten songs don’t hang about.
Like the wonderful minuet of The Blessing of a
Cure, piano minor and vocals soft; it’s
fleeting appearance sums up a great album which
known when just enough is sometimes the best"
Rockus
"An honest and original album"
